Jigs doing the damage on the Ranfurly

Hi all, just back from a very successful 4 day trip to the Ranfurly and a good start to the new year. Jigs did the damage on both the Puka and the Kingi's, the two best Kingi's coming on jigs, though baits also played their part with many more in the mid to high thirties coming on both baits and jigs. Unfortunately a few good fish were also lost to the taxman with sharks becoming a real problem towards the end of the trip, lets just hope they're not sill hanging around come the next trip to the Ranfurly. On a brighter note water temps. are up over the 19C mark off Waihau now so the first Marlin of the season can't be far away. Till next week, cheers Phil.
