Topwater action on the Ranfurly

Hi all, just back from another successful trip to Ranfurly with a keen group of anglers from Singapore and once again the banks did not disappoint. Though getting through the plague's of rat Kings initially proved a challenge, the age old saying big bait, big fish rang true, with large Kahawai of up to 2kgs proving too much for the smaller fish to take on. As water temperatures continue to increase we are starting to see some better fish taken on the top water gear including a couple up around the 30 kilo mark on this last trip. While the unrelenting rats proved frustrating  at times they also attracted the attention of a nice Marlin which we saw feeding in the shallows, the first of which cannot be far away. Till next time cheers, Rhys
