Ranfurly Banks Return of the GIANTS !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, as the title stats Ranfurly return of the giants is not an under statement, we have just returned form a stunning trip with some of the biggest kingis this early season has seen, when all the dust settled the boys had 5 over the magic mark of 40 with the biggest going 48kg!!, throw in some monster hapuka and big bass and you can see why we are excited. Man  if this is the start what the hell is the rest of the season going to bring, dare we say it, is this the year that the all tackle record of 52kg is going to fall ? who knows but what we do know is we busted much bigger fish off , we broke rods, blew up reels and smashed 170lb leaders !. These fish tested all but the best of tackle. If you have a trip down here in the next few weeks be warned don't go taking a knife to a gun fight as they say, bring out the big guns the bigger the better. till next week Lance.

Ranfurly at it's finest!!!!

Bill with a nice 33kg kingi
Hi all, well what an awesome trip we have just had at the Ranfurly Jigging and live baiting for king fish and WOW what a huge improvement on the top of the bank with both good quality up to 38kg's and fantastic numbers to keep the boys hooked up. Fishing is getting hotter an hotter each day in the shallows with massive amounts of bait turning up and is really looking to be a great season to come. We also got on to some second to none bottom fishing making short work of it to get a good feed.  With the biggest Hapuka going 38kg's and more in the high twenty's an thirty's. Until next time.
Cheers Steve

Ranfurly Getting Better by the day

Hi all, just returned from another good trip down the banks, this time we had the boys from Yeehaa with some of their good clients, and the banks fired up well with the best kingi going 33kg and the best hapuka a huge 38kg. I cant remember such a good run of monster puka , these last few trips have seen some true hogs on the bottom dwellers long may it last. Water temps are still struggling to reach 16c and this is slowing down the kingi bite, but we are not complaining still lots of solid kingis in the 20-30kg range. I'm picking once temps hit 17c all hell will break lose on the bank as they will feed up hard for their spawning. till next week cheers Lance
