fishing top water at the ranfurly banks proving time an
time again the best location for big kingfish on the surface.
We had some Singapore anglers this time round an they new
what they were doing managing to get nine kingfish over 30kg
the best at 38kg caught on a carpenter stickbait with many other
big kings. King fish are still smashing bait on the surface everyday
making good visuals an second to none top action. Bottom fishing
also went great for us getting some nice bass, the biggest at 50kg
and even got a massive hapuka which weighed in at 41kg, its great
to see these big fsh can still be found on a regular basis an still
taking jig's aswell.
We also had quite a bit of action on the lures resulting in two mahi
mahi, we lost a short bill spearfish and also had two marlin pull
some line out but sadly wasn't meant to be an both dropped off.
looks like the game season is starting to fire up for us down
here at Waihou bay and the banks itself.
