Top water south african style

Hi all we just took a group of South Africans
to ranfurly for top water with a different style called
plugging which is a little different to stick baiting
using plugs an very long rods and over head reel's.
Kingi's are still smashing bait on the surface and lots
of them, one angler managed to 85 kingfish in one
day! an some good ones as well with many fish in
the twenty's an our biggest going 33kg an what a fight
that was on these long rods it was awesome to watch.
Now the boys from the trip are on there way to the
three kings with enchanter to try jigging for these monster's.
Cheers Steve

Three Kings GIANTS ON THE LOSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe with his 44 kg monster
Hi all, well there are some serious giants on the lose at the kings that's for sure. Just back from our first trip and WOW the boys from Jigstar Africa have had a slammer of a trip on the reef thugs. The place is just on fire with us arriving at the king bank and on the very first drift of the trip Joe Lands this monster of a kingi that went 44kg what a start, they went on to smash monster kings day in and day out with the tally braking all  previous boat records, when the dust settled they had landed 5 over 40kg and 22 over 30kg. Never before had we had such high numbers of monster kings in one trip, if this is the start of what's to come hold onto your hats cause it's going to be a wild ride that's for real. possibly why they had such  impressive numbers was the gear that they were  using, all on 100lb braid and 130lb flouro leaders. Some epic battles unfolded with time and time again the boys staying connected to the hogs that they had hooked , sure there were fish that smoked them but not many we cannot stress enough that if you come to places like this you need the good gear, don't take a knife to a gun fight you will lose every time.   till next week cheers Lance

Ranfurly preforming time an time again

Gav's nice double
Hi all, well the fishing at Ranfurly is still fantastic at the
moment for both kingfish an bottom fishing, this time we had
a group of kiwi boys for 3 day's using just good old fashion bait.
The boys had an absolutely stunning session on the kingfish
for the first day getting five 0ver 30 kilos with the biggest coming
in at a massive 36kg as well as many fish in the high twenty's non
stop the whole day absolutely wrecking the boys!
Bottom fishing was as good as it gets, every rod that was dropped
came up with double header's of hapuka and bass. Biggest hapuka went just under the 30kg mark an many other good size eater's.
We were also lucky enough to get another marlin on the way back
to Cape runaway which taped out to 94kg. The weather was good
enough to allow us to do a sword drift on the last night resulting in
a hook up but sadly lost him after 15minutes, awesome to know
they are around.
Cheers Steve

Ranfurly banks round up

Steve with a nice cape snapper

Kane with a good cape kingi
Hi all well as you read this Enchanter and crew have relocated to the far north to start our Three Kings Rampage. The last trip down the Ranfurly was as good as it started with all the boy's nailing some great kingi's , kingi fishing this season on the furly has been nothing short of stunning, especially on  top water this place just gets better, week after week of hog kingi's smashing the stick bait's. Puka fishing started slow but picked up big time in the last few months with many monster puka falling to the boy's that tried their luck. You just need to read back through  the post's to see that this is indeed a very special place, dates are filling fast for next season so if you think you might like a go at some of these hogs don't leave it too late to book in or you may be very disappointed.   Cheers Lance
