Three Kings End of a great season

Troy with a nice 30kg bass
Well as you read this Enchanter and crew are on the way south for Whakatane , with this years Kings run done and dustered . What a season it has been just look though the reports and they speak  for themselves , it started the way it finished on fire with trip after trip just great fishing we were waiting for the wheels to fall off and the fishing to slow but it never got close to slowing down .; The last trip was a cracker as well with Troy and his family nailing some great kingi's , puka  and  a few bluenose and king terikihi thrown in to make the mix. The Kings are in great shape and long may they stay that way with many groups releasing most of what they caught and taking a modest feed for the family, we sure live in a great part of the world. This will be the last report for a few weeks until Enchanter heads down deep south for the giant bluefin , so stay tuned for August reports on them. Cheers Lance

heavy metal three kings

Dean's 36kg hog
Hi all well what at week it has been , we have had Jason kemp lead a group of metal heads to the kings in a storming run on big kingi's and bass that made everyone's head spin , not many times in a five day trip do we see 13 kingi's weigh in over 30kg and two bass go over 50kg with many more pulling the scales down to the high 40's . The Three Kings Has to be fishing at it's best  for the season and it;s June when most fisho's are home by the fire. They say talk is cheap so I'll let the photo's talk for me , just check out some of these hog's below. Water temps are down to 16c and I am sure that's the end of the game season but with whats still on offer not to much to be sad about, well 1 more trip and it's home james for Enchanter and crew till next week cheers Lance

Three kings still ruling

Beaver with the 64kg monster
Hi all , the Three Kings is still firing like no tomorrow , kingi's still holding in real strong with goldstein (Bruce) landing this weeks whopper at 37kg and the boys landing many more in the high and low 30's. Bass are on the rampage busting up the boys bad, with them in 100mtrs of water they are super  hard to stop and will pull a man to the rail, many busting gear as they hit the reef and run for freedom, Beaver  can lay claim to that as he was rag dolled  along the rail of the boat trying to stop this 64kg giant after at 20min battle it hit the surface and looked like an up turned dingy. Puka fishing was so good it took only half a day to secure a feed for the family's , again it was good to see the group happy to move onto other species once a good feed was caught, as these fish grow about a pound a year and cannot be released. No marlin were seen and water temps are down to 17c and colder in places but who knows be nice to catch one in june as most people are home by there fires. well Enchanter still has 2 more trips to the kings before we close the door up here and head south , stay tuned till next week cheers Lance

Three Kings rule

Drews 34kg
Hi all , well what can i say apart from the Three kings rule big time . Check out some of these hogs that the T.M.P fishing club from Auckland landed, in a unbelievable bite on the middlesex bank that ended with 2 over 40kg and 10 over 30kg. Loads and loads of bait has turned up there (photo of sounder) and its like a war zone with kingi's, marlin and bass all having a good go at it . After stunning kingi fishing the lures went it for 3 mins and we were bit on a double with matty landing this fine 120kg strippy and the other pulling the hook. Fishing doesn't get any better with big bass hitting hard if you drop to the bottom and kingis biting hard mid water and marlin on the top. Wow life's  good  and good weather as well, we keep looking over our shoulder for the wheels to fall off but as they say we must take the good with the bad and at the moment it's all good, till next week cheers Lance
