Hi all, well good to back on the water after a 6 week brake. Was a very busy 6 weeks with the good ship Enchanter dry docked for some much needed TLC, she is now sporting 2 brand new 300hp John Deere engines, wow what a differance that it has made smoother quieter and more grunt. We have just returned from our second trip both ranfurlys, first one was a group of Singapore jiggers to start the season off and apart from the weather being 25-30kts the boys toughed it out and to there credit the best kingi went a very impressive 38kg, puka and bass were keen to bite the jigs but no real biggys with the best going 25kg sorry no photo's left the camera at home. Second trip was YeeHaa tackle from Auckland and were to start, the weather was flat calm for the 4 days and the fish played ball as well. We spent a fair bit of time with the new craze, stick baiting and the results were nothing short of sensational, had packs of horse sized kingis climbing over each other to attack the poppers an stick baits unreal to watch little alone catch. In all the boys nailed 6 over 30kg an 3 over 35 with one by John Pellew going 41kg sling weighed, and to prove you don't need bait to catch puka the boys nailed 5 bass between 35kg and 45kg the biggest, YeeHaa what a bench mark to set for the new season. In other news the ship Rena that ran aground on astrolabe reef has been making night travel a no go with the risk of containers, other than that it's all go so looking forward to catching up with most of you this coming season. till next week cheers Lance
