white island

Hi all well white island is starting to show signs of some consistent kingi fishing at long last. Fanus Grous and a few of his Aussy mates had a hot bite with all the boys keeping 1 for the table and letting lots go to fight another day. In fact it was properly the best bite of the season with many fish in the high 20's and one in the 30's, let's hope this is a start to a good run. Well done guy's. cheers Lance

HI all, Ranfurly banks just keeps on producing show stoppers in the way of monster bass, puka and kingfish, the place is just loaded at the moment, in fact is is very hard to get away from the hungry puka an bass no matter what you target they are there and they are not small either as Julie Stubbs found out with this 65kg brute, not far behind was hash whitehead with his 45kg model. the best kingi went 33kg with several others in the high to mid 20's it's a great place to be at the moment and with water temps up to 19c traveling back and forth will have some form of result in the way of pelegic's, bring it on.

White island fires up

Hi all well it had to happen, white has finally fired up with some constant kingi fishing last couple of trips the boys from General cable and Iplex found a hot bite at the smokey ile best going a respectable 27kg. The big mover and proberly the reason for the bite was water temps shooting up and over 20c. Has been a late start to good kingi fishing at white but as they say better late than never, now it's watch this space for the start of the game season roll on summer . till next week cheers Lance.

White Island

Hi all first report from white, and all is ok at the smokey ile. Andy Crake and his mates had a good time pulling some white island pukas out of 240mtrs. Kingi's should be biting like mad as they are about to spawn but we found them to be fairly hard work, the boy's stuck at it and were rewarded with some in the 18kg-20kg bracket, they will fire up as the water warms so watch this space. Temps are starting to get up to 18c and then it will be game on for kingi's and billfish alike roll on summer. till next week cheers Lance

Ranfurly Rippers

Hi all well the title Say's it, Ranfurly is still on fire with yet another ripper of a trip. Dion Ward Allan and his friends had a ball with monster hapuka, bass and kingi's till there arm's were sore, the size of the true puka's was huge with them averaging 20-40kg just about as big as there bass mates, and kingi's to 35kg again have set the bar very high, if fact the puka fishing was so good that they were all finished by 9.30 in the morning with the rest of the day fulled catching kingi after kingi. Sooner or later this fishing must slow down to normal but at the moment we will have to put up with it. well done boy's big thumb's up.

Ranfurly Banks

Hi all well were to start, we have just returned from a back to back ranfurly with Chris Wong and jig star Africa. Man what a Marathon some of the numbers of fish caught are just about unbelievable but here we go, try 714 kingfish caught, 14 over 30kg and 3 over 35kg, best 2 were even at 38kg all fish were released to fight another day. Best one on a stick bait was 28kg with several others going high 20's . The weather at times was just shocking with gale warnings in force and calm sea's on only 2 or three days of the trip, the boys were like machine's with Henry landing 50 kings in 1 day not bad at all, ranfurly just keeps on turning out winners trip after trip, most of the kingi's were fat as pigs putting on condition for spawning. Best puka went 40kg as a by catch with the boys here for big kings only and they got what they came for, well done guy's legend's cheers Lance
